Things you need to know about me:
- I used to spend my spare time moving my bed room furniture around, and once tried to balance my bed on top of 2 chest of drawers to make bunk beds.
- I spent hours planning the theme for my teenage bedroom and finally decided upon lime green and lilac, with some accent pieces of inflatable furniture.
- When everyone else was preoccupied with bands and drugs and going out at uni, I was scouring markets for things to put in a house I was yonks away from owning.
- I still LOVE Carol Smiley, and secretly wish we could be freinds.
- I plan my week around wednesday night 'house night'- Escape to the Country, Relocation relocation and grand designs..... wow.
So you'll understand then, that thinking about my dream house is a serious pastime.
To begin with, I'll start with colour. No matter what, my house will be filled with colour. Here are some of my favourite rooms from my new favourite website Domino. Its an American website with the coolest houses on them, but no sooner had i discovered it, it is being closed down! So sad!

Oh my god Hannah, I think we could be twins. Mum and i used to stay in to watch changing rooms, in my teen years I decorated my room bright yellow (including the ceiling - not a good idea) with the woodwork, ( I had double fitted wardrobe doors and an under eves cupboard on top of the usual skirting boards) a delicious bright mid blue shade. It looked like a mexican fiesta. When I was about 7 my dad built me a cabin bed, it had bookcases underneath and one was a secret portal to a hidden world - by which I mean you push it and it was a secret door to but dark space under the bed where you could hide - and now I keep a sketchbook of fabric and wallpaper samples, pictures and paint charts that I love, for when we finaly own a home.

ReplyDeleteI have to say your reference to Wednesdays is so great, when Phil and Kirsty come back to Wednesday they always bring great programmes around their schedule and we go mad! It's either a case of grabbing the popcorn or we go for a drink at our local and skyplus it all to look forward to coming back to haha.
